Wamp Announces 2004 Service Academy Appointees posted May 7, 2004 Congressman Zach Wamp announced the 2004 Service Academy appointees. Each year Rep. Wamp nominates exemplary high school students from Tennessee's Third Congressional district to the nation's service academies, including the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy. "Students who attend our nation's service academies represent the 'best of the best' and these young people are no exception. They each have top-notch grades, incredible extracurricular activities and hold many leadership positions," said Congressman Wamp. "I am honored to nominate these outstanding individuals and thank each of them for choosing to serve their country." This year's appointees include: Robert Chase Carter Student at Marion Military Institute and graduate of Rhea County High School Son of Toby and Debbie Carter of Dayton, TN Accepted an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy Thomas Clark Student at the Baylor School Son of Peter and Lisa Clark of Signal Mountain, TN Accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy Stewart Hawkins Student at Berean Christian School and Pellissippi State Technical Community College Son of Dan and Pam Hawkins of Clinton, TN Accepted an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy Spencer Manley Student at The McCallie School Son of Tim and Jennifer Manley of Ooltewah, TN Accepted an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy Erich A. Murray Student at the Baylor School Son of Lee and Hilda Murray of Ooltewah, TN Accepted an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy Harold L.
