Silverdale Baptist Academy To Hold Expansion Groundbreaking On Tuesday

  • Friday, April 26, 2024

Silverdale Baptist Academy will break ground on Tuesday, on The Commons at Silverdale, a construction project that "marks a significant leap forward in providing 21st-century top-tier education facilities for their students," according to school officials.

The Commons at Silverdale encompasses a diverse array of facilities designed to enrich the learning experience and empower students for success beyond the classroom. At the heart of this endeavor is a sprawling 1500+ square foot STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) lab, equipped with maker spaces and a fabrication lab. This dynamic environment will foster creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration, preparing students for the challenges of the modern world.

In addition to the STEAM lab, The Commons features a dedicated consumer science classroom tailored to cultivate essential life skills. Complete with a fully-furnished teaching kitchen, this design will empower students to develop independence and practical knowledge to thrive post-graduation. By nurturing culinary expertise and household management abilities, Silverdale is equipping its students with the tools they need to excel in all aspects of life.

The construction of The Commons at Silverdale represents Phase 1 of a visionary two-part building initiative. With over 12,000 square feet of an innovative learning environment breaking ground, Silverdale looks forward to embarking on Phase 2 in the near future, further expanding their capacity to nurture the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators.
