Last July, I flew to Columbus, Ga., with a few members of our National Medal of Honor Heritage Center leadership team, to pick up an extraordinary soldier, COL Ralph Puckett, and his wife Jeannie. It was a privilege to escort them back to Chattanooga, where COL Puckett, the last living Korean War Medal of Honor recipient, was the guest of honor at the Heritage Center’s event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice (July 27, 1953). In 1943, then 17-year old Ralph Puckett joined the Army Air Corps Enlisted Reserve hoping to become a pilot. Roses to: The national development company that purchased the Chattanooga Bank Building (CBB) at 736 Broad St., to build a boutique hotel on 11 floors is to be commended for its efforts in preserving a historic structure that was constructed in 1927 and now will be saved from demolition. This is unlike Cameron Hill in the 1950s, etc. and the continued deterioration of the once famous Patten Hotel. It should be a good addition to Downtown Choo Choo City. It's a shame we have so many gun battles in certain parts of the city. An outside could come in, look at a map with the number of gun incidents and quickly formulate that most of inside Chattanooga city limits, there is a problem. Lookouts Beat The Biscuits 3-1

The Lookouts (7-16) held the Montgomery Biscuits (12-12) scoreless until the 9th inning on Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium and held on for a 3-1 win. Ben Peoples dominated through five scoreless innings in his fifth start of the season. The 22-year-old allowed just one single and two walks.
