Susan "Sue" Margaret Shramko (nee Bow) passed away on May 1, 2024, in Hixson, Tennessee, at the age of 78. She was born on August 11, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio.

Sue was the epitome of strength and love within her family. She exuded endless energy, unwavering love, and unconditional support. Her leadership and strength were a blessing to all who knew her. Sue's vibrant personality, cheerful outfits, and welcoming smile made everyone feel like they had a friend in her. Her years of organizing family reunions and social events brought joy to many and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ellen and Kenneth Bow; sister, Linda Bow; brother, Mike (Kathi) Bow; and brother-in-law, Anthony (Aimee) Shramko.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bert Shramko, children: Mark Shramko, John (Teresa) Shramko, and Patty (John Hackert) Welsh; former daughter-in-law, Nancy Shramko; former son-in-law, Tim Welsh; sisters: Barbara (John) Moschner, Nancy (Rick) Limbert, Kathy (Ronnie) Peters; cousins, Mary Lou (Bob) Riebe; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Sue's educational journey included attending Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio, followed by obtaining a Degree in Elementary Education at University at Dayton.

In her career, Sue showcased great abilities to work with people, organize efficiently, and achieve goals. She started as a teacher, then held various managerial positions. Her organizational skills and drive were well-known during her time managing the COSA facility in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Joseph's dental practice in Westerville, and the Venetian Festival in Bridgman, MI. Even after retirement, Sue remained active on numerous boards and groups.

Sue was a longtime parishioner at The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul in Chattanooga. Her hobbies included playing Bridge, in which she achieved Lifemaster status, participating in Serra Club, traveling, decorating, solving crosswords and puzzles, and cherishing time with her family.

Services for Sue will be held at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, with visitation on May 10 from 4-8 p.m., including a Rosary at 7:30 p.m.. The Funeral Mass will take place at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul in Chattanooga, on May 11, at 1 p.m., with visitation at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Wounded Warriors Project, or the National Right to Life Committee.
