The Chattanooga Lookouts comeback fell short in a 3-2 loss to the Birmingham Barons.

In the first inning, Birmingham took control of the game, scoring first on a RBI double by Edgar Quero. An inning later Michael Turner led off the inning with a double and scored on a Brooks Baldwin single. Chattanooga's deficit increased to three in the fifth on a home run by Terrell Tatum.

In the seventh inning, the Lookouts offense got going. Ivan Johnson smacked a double to lead off the inning and scored on a Jack Rogers double.

After Jose Torres reached on catcher's interference, Rogers scored on an error. With runner on second and third Austin Hendrick struck out swinging to end the inning.

After Zach Maxwell shut down the Barons in the eighth, the Lookouts loaded the bases in the bottom of that frame to force a pitching change. Barons pitcher Gil Luna then entered the game and recorded two outs to end the home team's threat. He then recorded a 1-2-3 inning to close out the game for Birmingham.

The Lookouts aim to get back in the win column with Sam Benschoter on the mound on Wednesday. Game is set for 7:15 p.m
